Sports massage, otherwise known as deep tissue massage, works on all the soft tissues such as muscles and tendons, and is ideal for people with injuries such as strains, pulls, tears and tight, aching muscles.
The therapist’s massage pressure is firm and deep, and the benefits are generally felt after the massage and over the subsequent days after treatment. These benefits can include improved sleep quality, better and easier range of movement in restricted areas, and generally, a "lighter" feel to the body.

Swedish Remedial Massage is a gentler type of massage, suitable for anyone and its aim is to bring about relaxation to the client and a general loosening of superficial muscles by using long, sweeping strokes.
This type of massage is therapeutic for those individuals who are feeling tired and stressed, but with no major injuries that need addressing. The massage helps bring about a state of relaxation and has been shown to temporarily lower blood pressure and promote a restful sleep.

Cupping can be experienced on its own in a 30 mins treatment, or in conjunction with either a Sports or Swedish massage.
It will enhance a deep relaxation to the areas of application (usually on the back of the body), improve circulation and magnify the benefits of the manual techniques of the therapist.
If you are recovering from a cold or flu with an aching body, cupping can help to draw impurities from the skin, encourage lymph drainage and de-stress the body overall.

You’re in Safe Hands....
Phaedra Georgiou is a fully qualified and highly experienced sports and remedial massage therapist (see Biog page). She is affiliated to both the SMA www.sportsmassageassociation.org and the ISRM
www.theisrm.com both of whom have demanding criteria of entry, with ethical codes of practice by which members abide. Phaedra is also comprehensively insured and is fully qualifed in first aid – just in case...!
Phaedra also practises myofascial release, a deep, specific technique applied to chronic tissues to help release areas of dysfunction within the body. A thorough postural analysis is required (before a sports massage only) in order to successfully treat the soft tissues – this ensures that the treatment is specific to your body’s particular needs, and that the work applied to the tissues will bring about a lasting effect for the client.
If you are in doubt as to the cause or diagnosis of your injury/pain, or if Phaedra feels tissue massage is not appropriate for your requirements, she has a network of other health professionals to whom she can refer you.
